Mactac IM1900XT Double Coated Foam Tape, 3/4 in x 216 ft (Macmount XT)

Description

This IM1900XT mounting tape is the 3/4 inch width of the Mactac Macmount XT line, 216 feet to a roll. Construction is a 1/32 inch white crosslinked PE foam carrier with high tack XT rubber adhesive at 1.8 mils per side, 34.85 mils of total caliper, and an 83# white SCK liner. The narrower footprint keeps tape off the sight line on a shallow return while still carrying real load.

Where the IM1900XT mounting tape fits

Three quarter inch is the width sign shops and display houses cut most. It runs down the return of a channel letter or a fabricated sign face, sets acrylic and styrene panels onto point of purchase fixtures, holds trim and moldings on displays, and mounts light nameplates, badges, and hardware where a full inch of tape would show past the part. Wire clip and cable management mounting works the same way. The foam carrier bridges the gap left by a weld bead, an extrusion draft angle, or a heavy powder coat run, and it damps the buzz a thin rigid panel picks up near a fan or compressor.

How the IM1900XT mounting tape performs

The XT adhesive is a high tack rubber system on both faces, so parts grab on contact and the joint reaches strength without a cure window. Under static load it passes 500 hours before shear failure. Apply at 50F or warmer, and the bond serves from 0F to 180F. Adhesion holds on low surface energy plastics such as polyethylene and polypropylene, on primed wood and paper, on painted and bare metal, and on firm foam, rubber, and flexible magnet. The 83# white SCK liner feeds a rotary die without breaking, so a narrow roll converts into pads and strips cleanly, and it peels in one piece during hand application. Both faces are permanent, so set the position before the liner comes all the way off. Pulling a part back after full contact tears the foam rather than releasing the bond.

IM1900XT 3/4 inch construction

Surface prep decides the bond. Wipe both faces clear of dust, oil, and release agent, let them dry, peel the liner back a few inches, set the part, then press the full length with a roller so the adhesive wets into the texture.
