Description
Miralon Yarn is a carbon nanotube fiber yarn from Huntsman Advanced Materials (formerly Nanocomp Technologies). The yarn is composed of millions of aligned carbon nanotube filaments held together by van der Waals forces, producing a fiber that is laterally flexible, fatigue-resistant, and stiff, strong, and both thermally and electrically conductive along the axis.
Select Ply and Length
Available in 2-Ply (base yarn, 10 Tex linear density) and 4-Ply (high-strength yarn, 31 Tex), in 1 ft sample, 3 ft, 33 ft, and 328 ft spool lengths. Choose your configuration below.
Common Applications
- Structural reinforcement in advanced composites
- Antennas and high-frequency digital/signal/RF applications
- Embedded electronics and wearable devices
- EMI and ESD protection
- Resistive heating elements
- Conductive textiles, smart fabrics, and sensors
Typical Physical Properties
- 2-Ply base yarn: 10 Tex (g/km), density 0.6 g/cm³, tensile strength 240 MPa, tensile modulus 4.9 GPa
- 4-Ply high-strength yarn: 31 Tex (g/km), density 0.8 g/cm³, tensile strength 1040 MPa, tensile modulus 46.4 GPa
- Both grades: operating temperature -200°C to +200°C, fatigue resistant, highly flexible, weavable
