Choosing the 1 lb Over the 20 Gram
- 453 g against 20 g, about 23 times the material, and it sells individually rather than in a case of 10.
- Prove the bond first. Moulded plastic varies with release agent and regrind content, so run the 20 gram on parts from real production before you buy a pound.
- Measure your worst-case gap before you standardize. If it’s under .004 in, PX-50 in the 1 lb is the better grade and keeps a higher aluminum figure.
- This is a bulk container, not a bench bottle. Most shops decant into applicator bottles or charge a dispensing system from it.
- Refrigeration matters more at this size. A cold 1 lb bottle takes real time to reach room temperature, and opening it early pulls condensation into a lot of material at once.

Shops do it routinely with bulk CA, and Pacer’s published guidance does not cover decanting, so treat it as shop practice rather than a manufacturer instruction. Keep transfer containers clean, dry, and capped, and move only what gets consumed in a shift, since cure rate depends on relative humidity. How should Pacer PX-500 be stored, and what is the shelf life?
