Description
This is the 10.2 oz cartridge size of ASI 5900 Fast-Grab Hybrid Adhesive, a one-part, moisture-cure hybrid adhesive based on silyl-terminated polyether technology. The 10.2 oz cartridge is the standard size for shop and field use, compatible with a standard caulk gun, and is the most common format for fabrication shops, installers, and contractors running ASI 5900 on countertop, shower panel, RV, roofing, and general construction applications.
ASI 5900 develops immediate green strength on contact, which fixtures substrates in place while the adhesive cures to a long-term durable bond. That fast initial grab is the defining characteristic of this product. It reduces or eliminates the need for braces, clamps, screws, and fasteners during assembly, which directly impacts labor time in high-volume fabrication and installation work.

Why Fabricators and Installers Use ASI 5900
The 10.2 oz cartridge is the go-to format for installers running ASI 5900 on large format panel work. Corian shower walls, stone shower panels, fiberglass panels, and similar large substrates need to go up and stay up immediately. Standard silicone does not have the initial grab to hold a full panel without mechanical support. Acetoxy silicones, which are common in these environments, also release acetic acid during cure, which creates a vinegar odor in enclosed bathroom and shower spaces and can cause corrosion issues on metal framing and fixtures.
ASI 5900 grabs immediately, holds the panel in position while it cures, contains no acetoxy chemistry, and produces no acetic acid off-gassing. Customers running this product through high-volume Corian and stone shower panel installations use it specifically because the fast fixture time reduces bracing requirements and speeds up the installation cycle.
The 10.2 oz cartridge works with a standard caulk gun, which means no special equipment is needed. For higher volume applications where reloading cartridges is a bottleneck, the 20 oz sausage pack is also available.
Performance in Production
- 10 minute skin formation time provides fast fixture of substrates, significantly faster than ASI 55 and ASI 57.
- Lap shear of 2.15 MPa delivers a strong bond profile suited for panel bonding and load-bearing applications.
- 100% solids formulation does not shrink during cure, unlike solvent-based or water-based adhesives that can lose 30 to 40% of applied volume.
- Bonds to wet substrates without bubbling or outgassing, and withstands immediate rain after application.
- Contains no solvents, isocyanates, or acetoxy chemistry. No acetic acid off-gassing. Low odor and MEKO-free.
- Remains easy to dispense from 0 degrees F to 150 degrees F, consistent across cold shop and hot field conditions.
- Non-slump formulation holds position on vertical and overhead surfaces, essential for panel installation.
- Compatible with standard caulk guns. No special equipment required.
- Allow 7 days for maximum strength before testing. Lower temperatures and humidity slow skin and cure times.
- Surfaces should be clean before application. IPA or acetone recommended for surface prep; do not use petroleum-based solvents.
- Do not use on polyethylene, polypropylene, or TPO without prior testing.
