Description

Araldite AY 557 with Hardener HY 557 is a rapid, clear two-component epoxy adhesive supplied in a 50 mL cartridge for small-part bonding and repair work. Surface Preparation and Use

Clean surfaces before bonding to remove oil, dirt, moisture, and other contamination. Lightly rough or sand glossy surfaces when the part design allows it. Dry-fit parts before dispensing because the working time is short.

Dispense and mix both sides thoroughly, apply to the prepared joint, and hold the parts in place until the adhesive develops enough strength for handling. Replace the mixer if material gels in the nozzle during a pause.

Huntsman technical data lists 100:100 resin-to-hardener ratio by weight and volume, 14,000 cP viscosity for each component at 77 degrees F, and lap shear strength of 2,560 psi on aluminum after a 24 hour room-temperature cure by ASTM D-1002.
