Description
The mixing tip does the actual work in a cartridge system. The gun just pushes. If the tip does not blend the adhesive and activator completely, you get soft spots, uneven color and a seam that fails inspection, no matter how good the adhesive is.
The X-Stream separates the two components right at the cartridge nozzle so they cannot cross-contaminate before they reach the mixing elements. From there it divides the activator into two streams and the adhesive into four, which puts far more surface area in contact early in the tip. Better mixing in less distance meant Integra could make the tip shorter, and a shorter tip leaves less material stranded in the housing when you throw it away.
Why This Tip

- Separated at the nozzle. The two components stay apart until they hit the mixing elements, so no cross-contamination at the cartridge tip.

Rodding instead of seaming? Use the X-Stream Large mixing tip. Rodding Bonder RD50 is a higher-viscosity material in a 500ml cartridge, and the larger housing raises flow rate and cuts hand fatigue when you are pushing a lot of adhesive into a rod channel.

How many mixing tips do I need?
Plan on one per seam. Once you stop dispensing, the adhesive in the tip starts curing on the same clock as the adhesive in the joint. Most shops keep a box on the shelf and never think about it, because running out mid-install costs you more than the tips do.
Can I reuse a static mixing tip?
No. The adhesive cures inside the mixing elements and there is no practical way to clear it. Pull the used tip, cap the cartridge, and fit a fresh tip for the next seam. Trying to push through a partially cured tip drives pressure up and can blow the tip off the cartridge.
Why does adhesive harden in the tip?
Because that is where the two parts first meet. Everything past the mixing elements is catalyzed and curing on its working-time clock, whether you are dispensing or not. It is not a defect, it is how every static mixer works. The X-Stream just wastes less doing it, since the shorter housing holds less material.
Do I need a retaining nut?
No. The bayonet fitting locks the tip with a quarter turn. Nothing to keep track of and nothing to cross-thread.
Is this the same as CCH-TIPSC20X?

Can I use a generic static mixer instead?
The bayonet fitting and the stream-splitting geometry are specific to this tip. A generic mixer may physically attach but will not divide the components the same way, which affects mix quality and
