Description

This 210mL cartridge contains LORD 201/19, a two-part structural acrylic adhesive using LORD Accelerator 19 at a 2:1 volumetric ratio. The 210mL format is suited for production bonding applications where higher throughput or larger assemblies call for a larger cartridge. LORD 201/19 is UL 746C certified and bonds metals, ceramics, and plastics with little or no surface preparation. The 210mL cartridge (SKU 3031481) replaces the discontinued 225mL cartridge (SKU 3020500).

Performance in Production

  • 210mL cartridge is suited for production bonding applications requiring higher throughput or larger assembly volumes than the 50mL cartridge provides.
  • Handheld cartridge automatically dispenses and mixes the correct 2:1 ratio. Even color distribution after mixing indicates a thorough mix.
  • Self-leveling consistency flows into irregular shapes and confined joint areas without requiring specialized dispensing equipment.
  • 5 to 8 minute working time supports part positioning and adjustments before fixturing.
  • Handling strength is reached within 12 to 16 minutes at 75°F (24°C); full cure takes 24 hours at room temperature.
  • Parts should be fixtured within 5 minutes of adhesive application.
  • Metal surfaces should be wiped with MEK to remove grease and loose contamination. Normal mill oils and drawing compounds typically do not present an adhesion problem.
  • Most plastics require only an isopropyl alcohol wipe. Abrading may improve performance on some substrates.
  • Resists dilute acids, alkalis, solvents, greases, oils, and moisture. Provides resistance to indirect UV exposure, salt spray, and weathering.
  • Bulk configurations (1/10-gallon, pail, drum) are available for even higher production volumes. Contact Chemical Concepts for details.

Common Applications

  • Production metal bonding applications where a larger cartridge volume reduces changeover frequency
  • Bonding metals, ceramics, and plastics in industrial assembly replacing welding, brazing, and riveting
  • Irregular shape and gap-filling applications requiring a self-leveling structural adhesive
  • Higher-volume production runs requiring UL 746C certified adhesive systems
  • Assemblies exposed to dilute acids, alkalis, solvents, oils, moisture, salt spray, or weathering

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the 210mL cartridge replace the 225mL?
Yes. The 210mL cartridge (SKU 3031481) is the current replacement for the discontinued 225mL cartridge (SKU 3020500). The chemistry and mix ratio are the same.

What is the difference between the 50mL and 210mL cartridge?
Both contain the same LORD 201/19 adhesive system with identical chemistry, mix ratio, and UL 746C certification. The 210mL (SKU 3031481) is better suited for higher-volume production bonding. The 50mL (SKU 3020987) is better suited for smaller assemblies, repair, and validation.

Is this 210mL cartridge UL 746C certified?
Yes. LORD 201 mixed with LORD Accelerator 19 is UL 746C certified. This applies to both the 50mL and 210mL cartridge sizes.

What mix ratio does this cartridge use?
The 210mL cartridge dispenses at a 10:5 volumetric ratio of adhesive to accelerator, equivalent to 2:1. The cartridge automatically meters the correct ratio.

Does this product require surface preparation?
Metal surfaces should be wiped with MEK to remove grease and loose contamination. Most plastics require only an isopropyl alcohol wipe. Abrading is not typically required on metals.

How long does LORD 201/19 take to cure?
Handling strength is reached within 12 to 16 minutes at 75°F (24°C). Full cure takes 24 hours at room temperature. Parts should be fixtured within 5 minutes of adhesive application.

What substrates does LORD 201/19 bond?
LORD 201/19 bonds a wide range of metals, ceramics, and plastics. Refer to the bond performance table above for lap shear data by substrate.

Is bulk packaging available?
Yes. LORD 201 is available in 1/10-gallon, pail, and drum configurations for higher-volume production where adhesive and accelerator are handled separately. Contact Chemical Concepts at 800-220-1966 or [email protected] for bulk pricing.
