Description
Pacer MR-10 has been discontinued and is no longer available. It was the water-thin grade in Pacer’s MR Series, a moisture resistant ethyl hybrid cyanoacrylate at 6 to 12 cP with .002 in gap capability. This page stays up for two reasons. The specifications are still useful if you have material on the shelf or need them for a record, and MR-10 held the strongest published figures of any Pacer cyanoacrylate, so anyone replacing it needs to know exactly what they are giving up.
The MR Series is formulated to hold tensile shear strength in moist and humid conditions and to maintain strength under thermal cycling. That gave MR-10 a cured temperature range of -65F to +260F, 80 degrees higher than any grade in Pacer’s E or RX families, along with 2800 psi shear on steel and 1950 psi on aluminum, both the highest figures Pacer publishes across its cyanoacrylate line.
What to Use Instead
Good news first: the surviving MR grades keep all of the moisture and thermal performance. What you lose is the viscosity. MR-10 was water-thin at 6 to 12 cP, and the thinnest MR grade now available is MR-290 at 250 to 350 cP, roughly 30 times thicker.

If MR-10 was in a qualified process, the third row is the wrong move. Swapping a moisture resistant grade for a general purpose one gives up the exact property you were paying for, and the difference only shows up months later in service. Hot Water Immersion and Thermal Cycling
This data is what separated the MR Series from every other Pacer cyanoacrylate family, and no grade outside MR publishes anything comparable. Both tests are on steel, per ASTM D-1002, +/- 10%.

One cycle is 3 hours at -22F followed by 3 hours at 158F. The retained percentages are calculated from Pacer’s published figures.
If you were specifying MR-10 for either of these conditions, the surviving MR grades hold up as well or better. MR-290 holds 1500 psi at 30 days immersion and 2700 after 20 cycles. MR-3000 holds 1850 psi at 30 days and 2700 after cycling, which makes it the most water-resistant grade Pacer publishes.

Every MR grade shares the same -65F to +260F temperature range, the same ethyl hybrid chemistry, and the same 4500 psi tensile on steel. Losing MR-10 costs you the thin end of the family, not the performance the family exists for.

Is Pacer MR-10 discontinued?
Yes. Pacer MR-10, part number FG04443, is no longer available. It was the 6 to 12 cP water-thin grade in the MR Series Moisture Resistant line. The series now starts at MR-290 at 250 to 350 cP.
What is the replacement for Pacer MR-10?
MR-290 for most jobs. It keeps everything the MR Series exists for, the -65F to +260F range, the hot water immersion performance, the thermal cycling resistance, and the same 2800 psi shear on steel. What it does not keep is the viscosity: MR-290 is 250 to 350 cP against MR-10’s 6 to 12, so it will not wick into a closed joint. If your process depended on wicking, call us, because no current Pacer grade combines that with moisture resistance.
What made the Pacer MR Series different?
Two things no other Pacer cyanoacrylate family publishes. A cured temperature range of -65F to +260F, which is 80 degrees higher than the E and RX families at +180F. And actual durability data: hot water immersion out to 30 days at 104F, and thermal cycling through 20 cycles from -22F to 158F. If your joint gets wet, gets hot, or goes through freeze and heat swings, that data is the reason to specify an MR grade rather than a general purpose one.
Was MR-10 the strongest Pacer cyanoacrylate?
On shear it was among the strongest. 2800 psi on steel and 1950 psi on aluminum are the highest figures Pacer publishes across its cyanoacrylate families, matched by MR-290 and beaten only by MR-3000’s 2900 psi on steel. Its 4500 psi tensile on steel is shared across the MR Series and sits above the 4000 psi typical of the E and RX grades. So losing MR-10 does not cost you the strength, since MR-290 and MR-3000 carry the same figures.

I have MR-10 in stock. Is it still usable?
Depends on age and storage. Pacer’s stated shelf life is one year when refrigerated unopened at 40F (4C), allowed to reach room temperature before opening, then stored in a cool, dry location. Discontinuation does not affect material you already have, but a cyanoacrylate past its shelf life thickens noticeably, and thickened CA has reached the end of its useful life. Test on scrap before you put it on a production part.
What size was Pacer MR-10 supplied in?
We carried the 1 lb (453 g) bottle, part number FG04443, UPC 0 87093 00270 8. Pacer’s data sheet also lists a 20 gram as FG04440, which was not on our last price list. Of the current MR grades, MR-290 and MR-3000 are both available in a 1 lb bottle.
