Fluorolube

Fluorolube

Fluorolube is a brand of PCTFE (polychlorotrifluoroethylene) fluoropolymer oils and greases manufactured by Huntsman Advanced Materials in Ashtabula, Ohio. These nonflammable, chemically inert lubricants are specified for service where conventional hydrocarbon, silicone, and PFPE products fail, including oxygen systems, strong oxidizing environments, chemical processing, vacuum equipment, and cryogenic applications.

The Fluorolube oil line covers six viscosity grades. FS-5 (6 cSt at 100°F) flows at temperatures below -60°C for cryogenic and precision instrumentation. MO-10 and S-30 cover general-purpose bearing, valve, and compressor lubrication. T-80, HO-125, and LG-160 deliver film strength for slow-speed sealing and damping work, with LG-160 reaching 1,400 cSt. The grease line runs GR-290 through GR-660, from low-temperature precision instrument applications (GR-362 down to -40°C) to high-load sealing service (GR-660 with a 575°F dropping point).

All Fluorolube products are roughly 80% combined fluorine and chlorine by weight, have no flash point, and remain stable across 300°F to 600°F. They are compatible with chlorine, oxygen, hydrogen peroxide, and red fuming nitric acid systems. Do not use against aluminum, magnesium, sodium, potassium, amines, or hydrazine. Detonation can occur with reactive metals under heavy friction or confined high pressure.

Chemical Concepts supplies Fluorolube oils and greases in 1 lb, 4 lb, 16 lb, and 80 lb production sizes plus 2 oz sample units, with most orders shipping same-day from our Dallas warehouse.
