Description
This 1 lb (453 g) bottle of Pacer MR-3000 is the production volume size of the most durable grade in Pacer’s cyanoacrylate line. At 2500 to 3500 cP it fills to .020 in, the widest gap Pacer offers, and it is rated -65F to +260F. It holds 1850 psi on steel after 30 days submerged at 104F, the best immersion figure Pacer publishes, and gives 2900 psi shear on steel and 2200 psi on aluminum. At 453 g it holds about 23 times what the 20 gram bottle does, and it sells individually rather than by the case. This is the size for a line bonding loose-fitting parts on assemblies that see water or temperature swings in service.

Choosing the 1 lb Over the 20 Gram
- 453 g against 20 g, about 23 times the material, and it sells individually rather than in a case of 10.
- Prove the bond first if you’re new to the grade. MR chemistry gets specified for a service condition, so run the 20 gram on the actual part with the actual exposure before you buy a pound.
- This is a bulk container, not a bench bottle. Most shops decant into applicator bottles or charge a dispensing system from it.
- Refrigeration and warm-up matter more at this size. A cold 1 lb bottle of a thick grade takes real time to come up to room temperature, and opening it early pulls condensation into a lot of material at once.
- Shelf life is one year stored per the data sheet. Buying beyond your annual consumption does not save money.
- Both MR grades come in a 1 lb, so if your fit-up turns out better than expected you can move to MR-290 at the same package size without changing families.
Performance in Production
- Enough volume to feed a daily bonding operation without a purchase order every other week.
- 2900 psi shear on steel and 2200 psi on aluminum, the highest figures Pacer publishes across its cyanoacrylate line. The aluminum number is 38% above the E and RX families.
- Holds 1850 psi after 30 days submerged at 104F and 2700 psi after 20 thermal cycles from -22F to 158F. Size the bond area against the degraded figure that matches your service condition, not the dry 2900 psi.
- .020 in gap capability absorbs fit-up variation across a production run, which matters more at volume than on a bench where an operator can sort parts.
- Rated -65F to +260F, 80 degrees above every grade in Pacer’s E and RX families.
- Fixture in 1 to 5 minutes and 80% of strength in 15 to 30 minutes. A filled .020 in gap cures from the outside in, so allow the longer end before loading.
- Plan a Pacer accelerator into the station at this gap, since Pacer recommends accelerators specifically to speed cure through larger gaps.
- Decant only what gets used in a shift and keep transfer containers dry and capped. Cure rate tracks relative humidity.
- Thick but not rated non-sag, and Pacer publishes no sag figure. Build the station around a horizontal or fixtured joint.
- EPDM comes in at 100 psi. If EPDM is your substrate, the RX Series is the better family.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much adhesive is in a 1 lb bottle of Pacer MR-3000?
Net weight is 1 lb (453 g), about 23 times the 20 gram bottle. Pacer’s guidance is one free-falling drop per square inch of bond area, but Pacer does not publish a coverage figure per gram, and a thick grade filling a .020 in gap uses considerably more per joint than a thin grade would. If you need to budget material against a part count, send us the part and we’ll work it out from a sample.
Will cyanoacrylate hold up underwater?
A moisture resistant grade will, to a documented degree, and MR-3000 is the best Pacer offers. It holds 1850 psi on steel after 30 days submerged at 104F, down from 2900 psi initially, so 64% retention. The loss is front-loaded, 71% retained at 7 days and 64% at 30, so the bond stabilizes rather than degrading steadily. Size the bond area against the degraded figure.
Is the 1 lb Pacer MR-3000 the same adhesive as the 20 gram?
Yes, identical. Same moisture resistant chemistry, same 2500 to 3500 cP viscosity, same .020 in gap capability, same -65F to +260F range, same MIL-A-46050C Type II, Class 3 rating. Only the container and the order quantity change. Nothing needs requalifying when you step up.
Which Pacer MR grades come in a 1 lb bottle?
Both current grades. MR-3000 at 2500 to 3500 cP filling .020 in, and MR-290 at 250 to 350 cP filling .012 in. Use MR-290 if your fit-up is good, since a thick adhesive in a close joint holds the parts apart, and MR-3000 when the gap runs past .012 in or the joint will be submerged for weeks.
Can I decant Pacer MR-3000 into smaller applicator bottles?
Shops do it routinely with bulk CA, and Pacer’s published guidance does not cover decanting, so treat it as shop practice rather than a manufacturer instruction. A thick grade is harder to transfer cleanly than a thin one, so use a wide-mouth container and expect some waste. Keep transfer containers clean, dry, and capped, and move only what gets consumed in a shift. If you need Pacer’s formal position on repackaging for a quality system, we’ll ask them.
How should Pacer MR-3000 be stored, and what is the shelf life?
Refrigerate unopened bottles at 40F (4C) for optimum results, then let the adhesive come up to room temperature before opening. A 1 lb bottle of a thick grade takes noticeably longer to warm through than a small bottle of a thin one, so give it time. Once opened, store in a cool, dry location. Stored that way, expect a one year shelf life.
What is the part number for the 1 lb Pacer MR-3000?
Our SKU is PAC-FG04463. The Pacer part number is FG04463 and the UPC is 0 87093 00275 3. On older Pacer paperwork the same item shows as Pacer item number 11740060.
