Description
Permabond 941 cyanoacrylate is a low-odor, low-blooming instant adhesive for close-fitting parts. Its alkoxyethyl chemistry reduces the white residue and visible fogging that can form around a bond line with more volatile grades. The liquid flows into controlled, narrow gaps and develops handling strength quickly on common production materials, making it useful when appearance and cycle time are both important.
Where Permabond 941 Cyanoacrylate Fits
This grade is intended for small assemblies made from metals, selected plastics, rubber, and other well-fitted substrates. Typical viscosity is 10 to 20 mPa.s, so mating surfaces should be close and consistently prepared. Published handling times range from a few seconds on neoprene and nitrile rubber to roughly 10 to 15 seconds on steel, aluminum, ABS, PVC, and phenolic parts. Zinc may require longer. Actual fixture speed depends on temperature, humidity, surface condition, and bond gap.
Low-Bloom Bond Appearance
The reduced-vapor formulation helps maintain a cleaner appearance on dark plastics, housings, display parts, and assemblies where residue near the joint would be visible. The adhesive is supplied as a single-component liquid, so there is no ratio measurement or static mixer. Apply a small controlled amount to one surface, assemble promptly, and hold the parts until fixture strength develops. Full strength is based on a 24-hour cure. Confirm compatibility on stress-sensitive plastics and production finishes before release.
