Description

Permabond® TA4611 is a two-part, 1:1 ratio structural acrylic adhesive designed for bonding low surface energy plastics—including polypropylene, polyethylene, HDPE, and PTFE—without the need for primers or surface treatments like flame, corona, or plasma. It’s ideal for small-gap assemblies requiring high strength and chemical resistance, making it a versatile solution for engineers working with polyolefins, metals, composites, and rubbers such as EPDM.

Unlike TA4610, TA4611 does not contain microbeads, enabling it to fill tighter bond lines, which is critical for precision assemblies. It is non-hazardous for transport and provides room temperature cure, making it convenient for production and repair settings alike.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Bonds untreated polypropylene, polyethylene, and PTFE

  • No surface pretreatment or primers required

  • Excellent adhesion to metals, composites, and some rubbers (e.g., EPDM)

  • Low viscosity for small-gap bond lines

  • Toughened for impact and environmental resistance

  • Non-hazardous for shipping – simplifies logistics

  • 1:1 mix ratio for easy use with manual or automatic dispensers

  • Full cure at room temperature

  • Good chemical and heat resistance

  • Compatible with static mix nozzles; bulk formats available

Common Applications

  • Plastic-to-metal bonding in automotive, appliances, and electronics

  • Polyolefin bonding in consumer products or OEM components

  • Composite assemblies in aerospace and transportation

  • Rubber bonding including EPDM gaskets or seals

  • Structural bonding where tight bond lines are required
