This 20 gram (0.70 oz) bottle of Pacer E-1500 is the only package currently offered in Pacer’s thickest E Series grade, a high viscosity ethyl cyanoacrylate at 1300 to 1700 cP with .010 in gap capability. It’s the bottle to keep at a bench that sees parts which do not mate cleanly, or work you cannot lay flat. At this viscosity it holds position on a vertical or overhead face instead of running off, and it fills twice the gap of the general purpose grade. Dispenses straight from the bottle, no gun and no mixer.

When This Is the Right Grade
E-1500 is a specific tool, not a general purpose one. It’s worth keeping a bottle on the bench alongside a thinner grade rather than instead of one.
- Reach for it when the parts do not mate cleanly. .010 in of gap capability is double the general purpose grade, and a filled joint always beats a starved one.
- Reach for it when you cannot lay the work flat. At 1300 to 1700 cP it holds position on a vertical or overhead face where a thinner grade runs off before it sets.
- Do not reach for it on close-fitting parts. Steel shear is 2200 psi here against 2700 in E-40, so if the fit is good you are leaving strength on the table.
- Expect to want an accelerator more often than with a thin grade. Pacer states accelerators are used specifically to speed full cure through larger gaps, which is this grade’s whole use case.
- Past .010 in, switch chemistry rather than grade. A gap wider than the adhesive is rated for leaves an uncured core, and a two part structural adhesive is the right answer.
- This is the only size offered in E-1500. If you need a thick gap-filling CA in production volume, call us before building a process around it.
Performance in Production
- Dispenses straight from the bottle. No gun, no static mixer, no mixing station, so a bond can happen anywhere a tech can stand, including up a ladder.
- .010 in gap capability handles parts that a thinner grade would fail on outright, which is what makes this the bottle you want for field and rework situations where the fit is whatever it is.
- Holds position on a vertical or overhead face far better than the thin and medium grades. Pacer publishes no sag figure, so test your own orientation rather than assuming zero movement.
- One free-falling drop covers about one square inch of bond area even in a thicker joint, so 20 grams goes a long way.
- A filled gap cures from the outside in. Fixture is 1 to 5 minutes and 80% of strength develops in 15 to 30 minutes, but give a wide joint the longer end of the range before loading it.
- 12% volume shrinkage is the lowest in the E Series, which matters most in exactly this grade because a thick bond line has more material to shrink.
- Keep the tip clean and the cap on. A thick CA bottle that clogs is almost always a bottle that sat open.

Net weight is 0.70 oz (20 g). Pacer’s guidance is that one free-falling drop covers roughly one square inch of bond area, so on small parts a 20 gram bottle covers a lot of joints even at this viscosity. Pacer does not publish a drop count or a coverage figure per gram.
Does Pacer E-1500 come in a larger bottle?
Not currently. The 20 gram is the only package Pacer offers in this grade. E-5, E-40, and E-100 are each available in a 1 lb bulk bottle. If you’re standardizing a production process on a thick gap-filling cyanoacrylate and need volume, call us first so we can look at options across the Pacer line before you build the process around a package that isn’t there.
Will Pacer E-1500 stay put on a vertical surface?
Far better than the thinner grades, yes. At 1300 to 1700 cP it holds position on a vertical or overhead face where E-5, E-40, and E-100 run down the part before they cure. Pacer does not publish a sag or slump figure for it, though, and it is not a gel, so test your own part orientation. If the adhesive genuinely cannot move at all, Pacer RX-50M Gel is a true gel.
How much gap will Pacer E-1500 fill?
Typical gap capability is .010 in, the widest in the E Series and double E-100’s .005 in. Past that, cyanoacrylate is the wrong chemistry: the surface moisture that drives cure cannot reach the middle of the bond line and you get an uncured core. For wider gaps, ask us about a two part structural adhesive.
Does Pacer E-1500 need to be refrigerated?
Pacer recommends refrigerating unopened bottles at 40F (4C) for optimum results, then letting the adhesive come up to room temperature before opening. A thick grade takes longer to warm through than a thin one, so give it time, since opening it cold draws condensation into the material. Once opened, store in a cool, dry location. Stored that way, expect a one year shelf life.
