Description

This 200 gram (7 oz) tube of Pacer RX-50M is the production volume size of Pacer’s non-sag cyanoacrylate gel. It holds ten times what the 20 gram tube does and sells individually rather than by the case, which makes it the size for a station bonding vertical or overhead joints every day. The gel fills to .020 in, the widest gap in the RX Series, and does not move once placed. It also carries the Range Extended chemistry, so it bonds plated, oily, porous, and acidic surfaces that stop a conventional cyanoacrylate.

Choosing the 200 Gram Tube Over the 20 Gram

  • 200 g against 20 g, ten times the material, and it sells individually rather than in a case of 10. On a per-tube basis that makes it the easier single purchase.
  • This is the size for a station that bonds vertical or overhead joints every day, or a line where gel is the standing process rather than a fix for the occasional awkward part.
  • Prove the bond first if you’re new to gel. Run the 20 gram tube on the actual part in the actual orientation, then move up.
  • Cyanoacrylate cure is driven by moisture and an opened tube works against ambient humidity from day one. Shelf life is one year stored per the data sheet, so buying more than you consume in that window does not save money.
  • A larger tube means a larger nozzle to keep clear. Cap it between uses, because a gel tube left open sets at the tip and you lose the whole nozzle rather than a drop.
  • Worth knowing across the family: the gel is the only RX grade supplied in tubes. RX-100 and RX-500 come in a 1 lb bottle if you need Range Extended chemistry at volume in a liquid.

  • Substrate failure on ABS, rigid PVC, nylon, polycarbonate, SBR, and EPDM. On all six the part fails before the bond.
  • Non-surface-sensitive, so plated parts and surfaces carrying oil, silicone grease, or release agent bond without a degrease and prime step in front of them.
  • Because the bead stays where you place it, an operator gets time to align the part. That is the difference between a gel station and trying to run a liquid grade on a wall.
  • A full .020 in gap cures from the outside in. Fixture is 1 to 5 minutes, but allow the longer end of the 15 to 30 minute range before loading a wide joint, and consider a Pacer accelerator, which Pacer recommends specifically for larger gaps.
  • Not certified to MIL-A-46050C. Confirm your job requirement before standardizing a process on it, since every other RX grade holds that certification.

No. RX-50M carries A-A-3097 Type II, Class 5 only and is the one grade in the RX Series Pacer does not certify to MIL-A-46050C. Every other RX grade holds both. If your job calls out the MIL spec you need a liquid grade, and RX-700 at 600 to 800 cP is the thickest certified option. Call us before you standardize if the part is vertical and the spec is mandatory.

Is Pacer RX-50M Gel available in a larger size than 200 gram?

Not currently. The 200 gram tube is the largest package Pacer offers in the gel. RX-100 and RX-500 are the two Range Extended grades available in a 1 lb bottle if you need the chemistry at higher volume, though both are liquids and neither is rated for vertical use.
