Description
This 20 gram (0.70 oz) bottle of Pacer MR-290 is the bench and trial size of Pacer’s moisture resistant cyanoacrylate, 250 to 350 cP with .012 in gap capability. It’s the bottle to keep on hand when an assembly gets wet, runs warm, or goes through temperature swings in service, since MR-290 is rated -65F to +260F and holds 1500 psi on steel after 30 days submerged at 104F. Dispenses straight from the bottle, no gun and no mixer. Sold in case quantity of 10.

Choosing the 20 Gram Over the 1 lb
- This is the size to buy first. MR chemistry gets specified for a service condition, so prove the bond on the actual part with the actual exposure before you commit to bulk.
- Sold in case quantity of 10, which suits stocking several stations or a service fleet rather than a single-bottle purchase.
- The 1 lb holds 453 g, about 23 times as much, sells individually, and is the size for a line running this grade daily.
- Cyanoacrylate cure is driven by moisture, and humidity in the headspace of a partly used bottle works against you over time. Shelf life is one year stored per the data sheet.
- If a 20 gram lasts a station a month or more, stay here. If you’re going through a bottle a week, the 1 lb is the move.
Performance in Production
- Dispenses straight from the bottle. No gun, no mixer, and small enough to take to the part or keep in a service kit.
- Rated -65F to +260F, 80 degrees above every grade in Pacer’s E and RX families.
- Holds 1500 psi on steel after 30 days submerged at 104F, and 2700 psi after 20 thermal cycles from -22F to 158F. Published data rather than a general weather resistance claim.
- .012 in gap capability at only 250 to 350 cP, wider than anything Pacer offers below 2500 cP.
- 2800 psi shear on steel and 2100 psi on aluminum, both near the top of the Pacer range.
- Fixture in 1 to 5 minutes, 80% of strength in 15 to 30 minutes, though a filled .012 in gap cures from the outside in so allow the longer end.
- Still a liquid at this viscosity, and Pacer publishes no sag figure. Hold the part flat or clamp it.
- EPDM comes in at 100 psi. If EPDM is your substrate, the RX Series is the better family.
- Keep the tip clean and the cap on. A CA bottle that clogs is almost always a bottle that sat open.
Common Applications
- Trialling moisture resistant chemistry on a joint that has failed wet
- Marine components and fittings
- Pool, spa, and plumbing hardware
- Washdown environments and outdoor equipment
- Joints running warm, up to +260F
- Aluminum and light alloy bonding at 2100 psi shear
- Service kits and tool trays, one bottle per station or per truck
- Bench work calling out MIL-A-46050C Type II, Class 2

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I buy a single 20 gram bottle of Pacer MR-290?
This size is sold in case quantity of 10. If you need one bottle to trial on a joint that has failed wet, call or email us and we’ll work something out. The 1 lb bottle sells individually if a larger package works for you.
Will cyanoacrylate hold up in water?
A moisture resistant grade will, to a documented degree. MR-290 holds 1500 psi on steel after 30 days submerged at 104F, down from 2800 psi initially, so roughly 54% retention. Most cyanoacrylates publish nothing on immersion at all, which is not the same as passing. Design the bond area against the degraded figure if the assembly will be wet, and get a sample wet before you commit.
What temperature can Pacer MR-290 handle?
-65F to +260F (-54C to +127C), which is 80 degrees higher than every grade in Pacer’s E and RX families. If you need more, ask us about Pacer’s TX Series, built for continuous elevated temperature.
How much is in a 20 gram bottle of Pacer MR-290?
Net weight is 0.70 oz (20 g). Pacer’s guidance is that one free-falling drop covers roughly one square inch of bond area, though a thicker grade filling a wider gap uses more per joint than a thin grade would. Pacer does not publish a drop count per bottle.
Is the 20 gram the same adhesive as the 1 lb?
Yes, identical. Same moisture resistant chemistry, same 250 to 350 cP viscosity, same .012 in gap capability, same -65F to +260F range, same MIL-A-46050C Type II, Class 2 rating. Only the container and the order quantity change.
How should Pacer MR-290 be stored, and what is the shelf life?
Refrigerate unopened bottles at 40F (4C) for optimum results, then let the adhesive come up to room temperature before opening. Once opened, store in a cool, dry location. Stored that way, expect a one year shelf life.
What is the part number for the 20 gram Pacer MR-290?
Our SKU is PAC-FG04450. The Pacer part number is FG04450 and the UPC is 0 87093 00271 5. On older Pacer paperwork the same item shows as Pacer item number 11740056.
