Description

Adhesive that cures inside the mixing nozzle is money in the trash. Every purge, every stop in the run, and every nozzle you pull off the cartridge takes retained adhesive with it. On expensive epoxies and thermally conductive pastes it adds up fast.

The Xemex X2-C8-7S Low-Waste Static Mixer holds 2.9 mL of retained volume and replaces 18 to 24 element mixers using only seven Xemex elements. The 8.7 mm inner diameter handles mid to high viscosity materials without choking flow.

The stepped nozzle tip can be trimmed to set outlet diameter and bead profile, or left full for needle tip work. The standard 16.7 mm bell connection drops onto most dual-cartridge and meter-mix systems, so it’s a direct swap without changing dispensing equipment.

The hydrophobic PETG insert supports moisture-sensitive formulations. Optimized for epoxies, methacrylates (MMA), urethanes, and silicones. Designed and manufactured in the United States.

Also sold as X2-B8-7S. Re Mixers renamed the bell connection from B-System to C-System. Current part number is X2-C8-7S.

The Xemex element geometry completes mixing in fewer elements, which shortens the mixer and cuts the amount of adhesive trapped inside it.

Patented Xemex Mixing Technology

Xemex static mixer internal element geometry showing striation count increasing through each mixing element
Xemex element geometry multiplies striations through each mixing element, reaching full mix in fewer elements than traditional designs.

Xemex inserts are additively manufactured, which allows internal geometry that conventional molded elements can’t produce. Each element multiplies the striation count, so full mixing happens in seven elements instead of 18 to 24. Shorter mixer, same mix quality, less adhesive left inside when you are done.

Performance in Production

  • 2.9 mL retained volume in a mixer that replaces 18 to 24 element designs.
  • 8.7 mm inner diameter supports higher-flow work and mid to high viscosity materials.
  • Lower back pressure than comparable micromixers, which means less operator effort on manual guns.
  • Stepped tip trims down to set outlet diameter and bead profile without swapping mixers.
  • Hydrophobic PETG insert supports moisture-sensitive adhesive systems.
  • Standard bell connection fits existing cartridge and meter-mix hardware with no equipment change.

Installation and Handling

  • Fits standard 16.7 mm bell cartridge and meter-mix connections.
  • Trim the stepped tip back one step at a time until the bead size is right. You can go smaller to larger, not the other way.
  • Purge a short bead before the first shot to confirm both sides are flowing.
  • Replace the mixer once adhesive begins curing inside the nozzle.
  • Leave the spent mixer on the cartridge between runs to seal it, then fit a fresh one for the next job.

Common Applications

  • Electronics. Potting and encapsulation where complete mixing prevents soft spots, including wearables and medical device assembly.
  • Transportation and aerospace. Structural bonding on production and repair work.
  • Industrial manufacturing. Gasketing and sealing with precision bead control.
  • Robotic and meter-mix adhesive dispensing cells

Waste Volume Comparison

Xemex static mixer retained volume compared against traditional helical and square element mixers

Retained volume is the adhesive left inside the mixer when you stop dispensing. It’s gone on every purge, every stop, and every changeover. Here’s what the X2-C8-7S holds against the mixers it commonly replaces.

Mixer Model Waste Volume
Medmix MCH 10-32T 19.00 mL
Medmix MCH 10-24T 14.60 mL
Nordson 160-824 (7700904) 11.00 mL
Nordson 160-632 (7700856) 9.00 mL
Medmix MCQ 08-32T 8.44 mL
Medmix MCQ 08-24T 7.28 mL
Xemex X2-C8-7S 2.9 mL

Fabricators and manufacturers commonly move to the X2-C8-7S from these models.

  • Medmix MCQ Series. 05-24L, 08-24T, 08-32T
  • Medmix MCH Series. 05-18T, 05-24T, 05-32T, 06-24T, 08-18T, 08-24T, 08-32T, 10-32T
  • Nordson 160 Series. 160-624, 160-632, 160-824

Confirm connection style and ratio against your cartridge before switching.

C-System Options

Four C-system mixers share the same 16.7 mm bell connection and 8.7 mm inner diameter. Pick element count first, then tip.

Part Elements Outlet Retained Volume Best For
X2-C8-7S (this page) 7 Stepped 2.9 mL Lowest waste, direct bead work
X2-C8-7L 7 Luer-Lock 3.0 mL Low waste, needles locked on
X2-C8-8L 8 Luer-Lock 3.5 mL Extra mixing margin, needles and precision tips
X2-C8-8S 8 Stepped 3.4 mL Extra mixing margin, direct bead work

Seven elements or eight comes down to the material. Seven holds half a milliliter less, which adds up on high-cost adhesives run at volume. Eight buys mixing margin worth more than the half milliliter on harder-to-mix or high-ratio formulations. Stepped or luer-lock comes down to whether you are laying a bead or running needle tips.

Xemex Mixer Comparison

Match the mixer to the cartridge or meter-mix hardware you already run, then pick the tip.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the X2-B8-7S the same as the X2-C8-7S?

They are the same mixer under the old and new part numbers. Re Mixers renamed the bell connection from B-System to C-System. Note that the current C8-7S specs differ from the older B8-7S datasheet, so use the numbers on this page when you are specifying. If you have older quotes or purchase orders calling out X2-B8-7S, this is the part.

Can the stepped tip be trimmed?

Yes. That’s what the steps are for. Cut back one step at a time to open up the outlet diameter and get the bead profile you want. Start small and work up, because you can’t go back the other way. This is the practical difference between the stepped tip and the luer-lock version, which holds a fixed outlet and takes threaded needle tips instead.

Which C-system Xemex mixer should I use?

Four options share the same 16.7 mm bell connection and 8.7 mm inner diameter. Element count sets the mixing margin and the waste, and the tip sets how you dispense. The 7-element versions hold half a milliliter less than the 8-element versions. Choose a stepped tip when you are laying a bead directly, a luer-lock tip when you are running needles or precision tips. The C8-7S is 7-element stepped at 2.9 mL, the C8-7L is 7-element luer-lock at 3.0 mL, the C8-8S is 8-element stepped at 3.4 mL, and the C8-8L is 8-element luer-lock at 3.5 mL.

Which Medmix and Nordson mixers does the X2-C8-7S replace?

It is commonly used in place of Medmix MCQ 05-24L, 08-24T, and 08-32T, Medmix MCH 05-18T, 05-24T, 05-32T, 06-24T, 08-18T, 08-24T, 08-32T, and 10-32T, and Nordson 160-624, 160-632, and 160-824. Confirm the connection style and ratio against your cartridge before switching.

Customer Feedback

“The new Xemex mixer worked fantastic with Dow 3-4207. Greatly reduces wasted potting material and also mixed the 2 parts very well. This is exactly what we needed.”
Direct Customer Quote

“My customer had sporadic curing issues running EP965LVLX with a .187 x 48 helical mixer they were using. They dispensed test patterns with Xemex and got a complete cure. They told me these mixing sticks work great.”
Sales Representative, Eastern US

“My customer tested the Xemex mixer with an expensive thermally conductive paste. It was easy to see the cost savings from wasting less material in the mixer compared to the helical mixer they were previously using. They ordered 50 on the spot.”
Sales Representative, Southern US
