When This Is the Right Bottle
- Your parts fit well but a standard cyanoacrylate won’t hold them. That combination, good fit-up plus a bad surface, is exactly what RX-50 is for.
- You’re bonding EPDM or SBR rubber, where this fails the substrate before the bond and a general purpose grade reaches only 100 psi.
- Sold in case quantity of 10, so it suits stocking several stations, kitting out a service fleet, or a shop that wants a bottle wherever the problem parts show up.
- This is the only size in RX-50. If you need Range Extended chemistry at production volume, RX-100 in the 1 lb is the thinnest bulk option, though it is thicker at 80 to 120 cP.
- If your parts are clean metal, E-40 runs the same viscosity and gap and is meaningfully stronger, 2700 psi steel shear against 2300. Don’t pay for surface tolerance you don’t need.
- Cyanoacrylate cure is driven by moisture and an opened bottle works against ambient humidity from day one. Shelf life is one year stored per the data sheet.
Performance in Production
- Dispenses straight from the bottle. No gun, no mixer, and small enough to keep in a tool tray or take to the part.
- Bonds through silicone greases, oils, and release agents, and onto plated parts, which is why you’d choose this over a general purpose grade.
- Substrate failure on ABS, rigid PVC, nylon, polycarbonate, SBR, and EPDM. On all six the part fails before the bond does.
- At 30 to 70 cP it flows into a close joint, and .004 in of gap capability means fit-up needs to be reasonably good. Loose parts want a thicker RX grade.
- One free-falling drop covers about one square inch of bond area, so 20 grams covers a real part count on small joints.
- Fixture in 1 to 5 minutes, 80% of strength in 15 to 30 minutes.
- It will run on a vertical or overhead face before it sets, and it migrates along seams. Hold the part flat and keep it clear of threads and cosmetic faces.
- Clean the parts anyway. This buys margin on a difficult surface, it does not remove the value of prep.
- Keep the tip clean and the cap on. A CA bottle that clogs is almost always a bottle that sat open.

Can I buy a single 20 gram bottle of Pacer RX-50?
This size is sold in case quantity of 10, and it’s the only package offered in RX-50. If you need one bottle to trial on a problem part before committing, call or email us and we’ll work something out. Getting a sample onto the actual substrate is the right first step with Range Extended chemistry anyway.
Does Pacer RX-50 come in a larger size?
No. The 20 gram bottle is the only package Pacer offers in this grade. RX-100 and RX-500 are the two Range Extended grades available in a 1 lb bottle, with RX-100 the closer match at 80 to 120 cP. If you’re standardizing a production process on RX-50 and need volume, call us before you build the process around it.
Why won’t regular super glue stick to my parts?
Usually the surface, not the adhesive. Oily and greasy films, silicone lubricants, mold release, plating, and acidic surface treatments all block or slow cyanoacrylate cure. The tell is inconsistency: a standard grade bonds some parts from a batch and not others. RX-50 is formulated to cure on those surfaces at the same 30 to 70 cP viscosity as a general purpose grade.
Does Pacer RX-50 bond EPDM rubber?
Yes. In ASTM D-1002 testing RX-50 gives substrate failure on EPDM, meaning the rubber tears before the bond does, and SBR is the same. Pacer’s general purpose E Series grades reach only 100 psi on EPDM. If you bond rubber gaskets, seals, or trim, this is the family to specify.
How much gap will Pacer RX-50 fill?
Typical gap capability is .004 in, the tightest of the current RX grades. If your parts sit looser, RX-100 fills .005 in, RX-500 fills .008 in, RX-700 fills .010 in, and the RX Gel allows .020 in.
Will Pacer RX-50 run on a vertical surface?
Yes. At 30 to 70 cP this is a low viscosity liquid and it will run down a vertical or overhead face before it cures. Hold the part flat or clamp it. If the part cannot be reoriented, the RX Gel is the only grade Pacer rates as non-sag and non-running.
How should Pacer RX-50 be stored, and what is the shelf life?
Refrigerate unopened bottles for optimal results. Once opened, store in a cool, dry location away from heat sources. Stored that way, expect a one year shelf life.
