Which Integra Adhesive Should You Use?
Not every stone fabrication job calls for the same adhesive. Bonding an outdoor countertop seam, attaching a sink, reinforcing a countertop with rodding, and completing a time-sensitive repair all present different challenges.
Integra Adhesives offers specialized products designed to help fabricators choose the right adhesive for each application.
During a live product demonstration with Chemical Concepts, the Integra team introduced innovations focused on improving bonding performance, simplifying fabrication, and reducing production time. Watch the full demo below.
Integra Adhesives by Application
1. Integra Horizon: For Indoor and Outdoor Seams
Best For: Outdoor kitchens, countertops, miter joints, and other exposed stone applications.
Horizon is engineered to withstand sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperature changes while maintaining bond strength and color stability.
- UV- and weather-resistant formulation
- Non-sag application
- 100+ pre-mixed colors
- 8–13 minute working time
- 20–30 minute fixture time
Choose Horizon over XI Plus or Rapid when outdoor exposure is a requirement.
2. Integra XI Plus: For Everyday Seaming and Color Matching
Best For: Indoor countertop seams, flat seams and edge laminations on solid surface, granite, quartz, porcelain, and sintered stone.
XI Plus (sold on our site as Integra Surface Bonder Xi+) is Integra’s versatile everyday seaming adhesive, with enhanced bonding performance on materials such as porcelain and marble.
- 300+ pre-mixed colors
- Strong bonds with nearly invisible seams
- 9–14 minute working time
- 20–30 minute fixture time
Choose XI Plus over Horizon when the job is indoors and broad color selection matters more than outdoor weather resistance.
3. Integra Component Bonder: For Attaching Hardware and Components
Best For: Bonding undermount sink clips, metal brackets, supports, and other components to stone surfaces.
Component Bonder is a two-part structural methacrylate adhesive designed to bond dissimilar materials, including steel, aluminum, fiberglass, and stone.
- Strong structural bonding
- 4–8 minute working time
- 15–20 minute fixture time
- 400 mL, 1:1 cartridge system
Choose Component Bonder over Rodding Bonder when attaching hardware or bonding different materials rather than primarily embedding reinforcement rods.
4. Integra Rodding Bonder RD50: For Countertop Reinforcement
Best For: Embedding fiberglass, steel, or stainless steel reinforcing rods in stone countertops.
Rodding Bonder RD50 is designed specifically for reinforcement work, providing controlled cartridge dispensing without the inconvenience of manually mixing traditional rodding compounds.
- Designed for steel and fiberglass reinforcement rods
- Fast curing for efficient production
- 5–10 minute working time
- 15–20 minute fixture time
- 500 mL, 10:1 cartridge system
Choose Rodding Bonder over Component Bonder when your primary task is embedding reinforcing rods in routed countertop channels.
5. Integra Rapid: For Faster Seaming and Higher Production Output
Best For: High-volume fabrication shops and installations where faster fixture time helps increase productivity.
Rapid (sold on our site as Integra Surface Bonder Rapid) is a fast-curing, color-matched surface adhesive designed for quartz, natural stone, porcelain, and sintered materials.
- Fast-curing, non-sag formulation
- 25+ pre-mixed colors
- 4–8 minute working time
- 10–16 minute fixture time
Choose Rapid over XI Plus when speed matters more than having a longer working window or the widest color selection.
